I went to a book store over the weekend and was overwhelmed by how much typography was jumping out to me then it ever has. Mostly all books have type on them, some with good typography and others with (shall I say) not so good. This first one I was drawn to for it's creativeness. I read this book back in high-school, but the cover really stood out to me. The type treatment is so creative actually becoming part of the illustration.

Next I came across another book from my highschool days "Lord of the Flies." I saw that there were two different covers of the same book right next to each other and it was interesting to compare the two. The first is a very unclean script like font, while the other has very clean lines but has sharp end caps. It is interesting to me that although these type faces are quite different, they both describe the book in their own different way. However if I had to choose one, it would be the first. That could just be the amazing illustration that goes with it, but I also feel that this typeface embodies what this book really is about.
